The Park & Tilford Gardens were created by a privately owned distillery in 1968. Now a city park, there are many different mini-theme gardens within, including roses, herbs, Asian garden, rock garden, white garden, rock pool and some cool examples of edible landscaping.
John discovered one of his favourite specimens right off the bat, a handkerchief tree.
Nearby, I loved the colour contrast on the ornamental kiwi leaves. So pretty.
The Oriental and Spanish poppies were amazingly huge! No scent though…
Plus they have the loveliest garbage cans. I am not kidding! This is the top, if you can believe it.
This park and garden is really worth checking out sometime. For directions and more details, hit this link.
